It was quite a paddle and I'm happy we came here,
Emma's sniffed for food, she was ready to dine.
"Next time;" I said, "we'll bring some cold beer,"
Emma howled saying; "Champagne is just fine!"

An afternoon of navigating current and tide,
Embracing the toils and pleasure we share.
In a kayak, always pretty much side by side,
That's Emma and I― the inseparable pair.

It's just so heaven to float, to watch the day end,
Each page we turn, our fresh dreams take flight.
Versace's abundance ended, new paths transcend,
In silence we can drift― let’s wait for the night.

On a sandbank where figures multiply like fish,
Where carbon copies stand like curious gulls.
Little Emma sniffs for a seafood dish,
On a sandbank― until the tide fills.

Emma sees an approaching crab to the right,
She stays still while it wanders near.
Windblown she waits, in fading sunlight,
Alas, the crab runs off in fear.

Waves whisper gently, the wind takes hold,
We're all huddled, it may soon be high tide,
The sun drops low for the night to unfold,
Soon the moon and the stars be our guide.

One happy dolphin, leaps up with ease.
Out from the water it appears,
We watch it dance and splash in the breeze,
It winks at Emma, to release any fears.

We now watch the tide in a softening light,
A crab dances with a sideways stride.
Our beating hearts are now joyous despite,
This sandbank the returning tide wants to hide.

The sunset whispers tales from afar,
The city is darkening, the horizon's aglow.
Drifting in silence, where sunbeams are,
'Til the tide takes us home again― slow.

Have you ever tried something new,
Just craved for that perfect shot?
Just Emma and I and a stunning view,
On a cool afternoon, not too hot.

By the river is where the view looks right,
Near a bridge and cars and bikes.
Just set your phone at driftwood height,
To maybe get a few Facebook likes.

Tap the screen then run away,
To find that perfect space.
Here's the results of Emma and I,
We lost six feet and sadly one face...

Last night I had a scary dream,
About Elon Musk and his whoopee deals.
A bargain on Mars, it was made to seem,
A better deal than batteries on wheels.

I just had to pay the rocket flight there,
For 200 acres of untouched farmland.
He said I can't buy much better anywhere,
And bitcoin payment is on demand.

I transferred all my bonds and cash,
Hoping Mars would bring me new cheer.
For a lifetime spent on red planet ash,
In an empty, empty, atmosphere.

He's stood me in a queue on earth,
Says I have to wait for a spell.
I'm waiting, waiting; do the math?
A mere Trumpeteer-- can't you tell.?!

Peering over water, you see fish dart away,
Let's float like jellyfish, let's glide in the sun.
Under bridge, over bridge, the sun fades away,
A cool breeze blows― for some afternoon fun.

Battling small waves, best way we knew,
Wind and chop sent salt spray everywhere.
Our creaking kayak kept powering through,
The wind and tide roared; "let me interfere!"

We paddled up to Sea World and back,
Well, skipper did, I was too busy howling.
I couldn't help but run along the deck,
A tall ship makin’ waves kept us rocking.

This morning it was quiet, still on the water,
Just Emma and I and what lurks below.
We were heading for the shops a little later,
When we passed a shady spot we both know.

It’s hot, panted Emma, so just here is fine,
In some shade ‘neath a tree at the beach.
The summer days seem to shine and shine,
Except in spots, where sun’s rays can’t reach.
