Picture

A shimmer, a sparkle, a warm embrace.
The storm passed and fury is spent,
Sunbeams reflect on the river's face.
Blue to sparkling orange― a sunny descent.

Picture

Barbeques sizzling, such aroma divine,
Families gather with friends old and new.
Meals on the jetty and on boats in the bay,
Australia Day, a perfect day, for me and you.

Picture

In the silence, a breeze seemed to call,
Through pathways and hidden nooks.
I felt curious, yet timid, exploring all,
Shelves on walls, be covered with books.

Picture

When the sun dips low, with warmth in the air,
Emma dreams of adventures, of places yet to see.
She sets sail over water, the wind in her hair,
The cool breeze is whispering, her spirit flows free.

Picture

As sunlight descends, the stars start to gleam,
Emma finds solace in twilight’s gentle hush.
With cool air in the silence it seems just a dream,
It's late on the water-- it's noise free― no rush.

Picture

Emma watches in the afternoon light,
The trawler embarks on its final quest,
There goes ‘C-Ranger’s’ last trip tonight.
Allowing prawns time, to do what they do best.

Picture

Ever gone walkies in the doggy park at night,
Ever looked in the distance to Main Beach?
The buildings, the lights, all shine so bright,
This trendy suburb that is well within reach.

Picture

Outside my window, a chilling sound creeps,
Being startled, my heart begins to race.
Grunts are echoing with high-pitched squeaks,
Could the neighbour’s boys be spooking my place?

The next day, I ventured outside for a peek,
There was dragon fruit, twisted and wild.
What I discovered made my knees weak,
It climbed over my fence, easy as a child.

It’s tendrils reached out in a sinister pose,
Would they crawl in to shatter my dreams?
Heading for my bedroom, the dragon fruit goes,
Now I wonder why I’ve heard local screams..?

Picture

A morning breeze whispers secrets of the day,
Emma looks around for the best spot to be.
She watches reflections in an inquisitive way,
Her spirit of adventure, as wild as the sea.

Picture

Curious, excited, I climbed in with care,
My world outside drifted away.
I tried the spiral stair, a cushioned chair,
I shook at such an amazing display.

Picture

The scent of cut grass sweeps in a breeze,
This garden, such a peaceful and calm place.
Emma stretches out below shady conifer trees,
Taking time out to enjoy nature's grace.

Picture

I busily loaded up the kayak we shared,
Emma jumped aboard not wanting to get wet.
It's an effort getting our departure prepared,
When the other crew member is one playful pet.

Picture

Main Beach rests within her sight,
The river view is vast and grand.
Whispered tales of dawn and night,
How much might Emma understand?

Picture

Sometimes I like to dive down deep,
To see what secrets hide.
I'm not in search of little black sheep,
But the beauty only dreams can provide.

Picture

Have you ever wished to sail away,
On a multi-million-dollar yacht.
If Emma and I dressed like waiters, we very well may,
Get that ocean voyage, total luxury― the lot.

Picture

Emma floats on the kayak, so tranquil, so bright,
Boats on moorings swing to the river's flow.
She's at Marina Mirage, bathed in afternoon light,
Schools of tiddlers are passing below.

Picture

Images before us are an artist's delight,
Clouds are brushstrokes, a masterpiece in the air.
Streaks of white dance with morning light,
A world of dreams where none can compare.

The water below, reflections so clear,
The clouds twirl in a silent ballet.
Here are two skies, one here, one here,
Defining shadows, in silence, fade away.

To look out and along, such a curious view,
The reflections stretch to a boundless expanse.
The pillars stand tall, in what seems a queue,
Endless infinity, a free timeless dance.

Shifting Clouds bring change, celestial play,
Hidden secrets beneath a watery embrace.
Their reflections twist and turn in every which way,
A world of wonder, such a heavenly place.

Picture

Emma's kayak glides with gentle grace,
The afternoon’s stillness is soft, so profound.
A peaceful scene shows time's slow pace,
Boats afloat are all tied and bound.

Picture

It seems I discovered this bathroom,
With no toothbrush, towel or soap.
Then I remembered, it's not my home,
I'm only dreamin'― I’m sure I can cope.

Picture

Feeling refreshed from my scented bath,
I wandered down the hallway near.
Took few steps more, a twist in the path,
Such an empowering aroma in the air.

I imagined here be the top of the tree,
Caressed by wood oak trimmings throughout.
Candles, rugs, pillows, there's a lake I see,
Mmmm… and that bed I've been dreaming about.

Picture

Have you ever looked around,
Not sure how you got here.
Then your skipper makes a sound,
We're heading for shore-- never fear.

Picture

Tired? There’s some pillows over there,
Lantern's casting such soft, warm light.
A place for dreams and tales to share,
True mystique on any enchanted night.

Picture

The open door shows a portal to the wild,
Emma looks up with sadness in her eyes.
The kayak is next, at least her skipper smiled,
She frowned, she can sniff stormy skies.

Picture

Emma adores a seafood feast,
Just drools over treats from the ocean.
She'll visit trawlers, how she knows best,
With puppy tricks in exchange for crustacean.

Picture

Here's crewmate Emma, with one happy grin,
Power yachts, towers and a pooch all at sea,
She sits there thinking, "Where do we begin?"
This big boat adventure, for you and for me!
