Picture

The horizon blushes in shades of pink,
As day surrenders to twilight’s grace.
Under a sickle moon, I pause to think,
Main Beach, to some, a sacred place.

Picture

With wagging tails and joyful eyes,
Through waterfalls and skies so blue.
They’re intrigued, how butterflies rise,
They show their loyalty― a gift to you.

Picture

Byron Bay lighthouse stoops, hi-rise get higher,
A much loved Byron is candy-wrapped today.
The locals move on, diddled by the dollar,
The iconic mountain goats get carted away...

Picture

On a steak so tender, two forks took flight,
Golden fries circle in a beefy parade.
In a romantic setting, so warm and so bright,
With a twinkling of lights falling stars cascade.

Picture

Surfers ride on the way they know best,
Near a tasty café by the sea.
Pooches are welcome― truly blessed,
Fine fare for both you and me.

Picture

As dawn breaks on the Gold Coast shore,
Clouds awaken, bathed in orange and pink.
Momentarily the sky explodes, it’s colour galore,
Such a masterpiece makes your heart sink.

Picture

Dark silhouettes of rocks stand tall,
The Surfers’ skyline in the distance gleams.
Windswept waves make the ocean’s call,
Tallebudgera to Burleigh― ev’ry dreamer dreams...

Picture

The Seaway wakes with a morning song,
The pier stretches out, so straight, so bold.
Mid Winter’s dawn, feel the cold air cling,
Sunshine smiles show in sparkling gold.

Picture

In stillness, at dawn’s first light,
Rowboats readied, steady and sure.
The river whispers out, “pure delight”,
Over the surface, a mirror so pure.

Picture

A swan awakes in dawn’s gentle embrace,
With every flap, a song of joy it sings,
Rejoicing, it spreads its wings at daybreak.
Such wonder this winter’s day brings.

Picture

Let us learn from this display,
In this balance the truth is found.
Let’s embrace the night and welcome the day,
In twilight’s magic― we are bound.

Picture

Cycles of life in endless motion,
As day opens from night’s tender sway.
Echoes of eternity, across the ocean,
Let us greet the dawn― let's find our way.

Picture

These head spinning tiles are really retro-bold,
I sit here with a scrub brush, with soap that's goin' green.
I’m missing double-dip nights when champagne overflowed,
Just me and a couple of bubbles tonight, in this retro bathroom scene.

Picture

“Oh dear,” said Cup One, “It’s nice being kissed”,
Cup Two sighed deeply, “I know what you mean”.
By lips and by tea bags, they couldn’t resist,
“Such a perfect relationship― it’s almost obscene”.

Picture

‘Tis in twilight’s gentle embrace,
Where day is surrendering to night.
The sky is an image of fleeting grace,
Reflections of our transient plight.

Picture

Headlights beam across the bridge at night,
Twilight drives become a light show for free.
All types of cars― such a dazzling sight,
Streaking over the Isle of Capri...

Picture

So grande to hear wind and waves making sound,
With every sunrise one more new day begins.
A priceless gift is amazingly found,
Seems that nature and joy always wins.

Picture

Eyes are sharp, she's always on watch,
She barks to warn and wags lots to cheer.
Such good company, Emma's really top notch,
My fuzzy little, four-legged pioneer.

Picture

The sun dips low in the Broadbeach sky,
Drifting clouds, tumble― swirl free.
Pink and orange colours offering a sigh,
Whispering tales and moments to eternity.
