Picture

Our Macintosh Island cruise, the sun was bright,
When Budds Beach suddenly appears.
Soon Surfer’s Paradise, a circumnavigator's delight.
Ev’ry circling bird brings music to the ears.

Ever tried to catch the new day's sun,
At Currumbin on a Sunday morning?
With sleepy surfers and gulls on the run,
Where cotton candy dreams keep on coming.

When it rains, water flows end-to-end,
It shows fleshy leaves that come what may.
An architectural beauty, a spiked curved flower friend,
In full splendour, a Swan's Neck Agave.

When sunset is low it’s a win-win-win,
On the Gold Coast, where the sun is so bright.
Kayaking with Emma, lets splash with a grin,
Let’s go ashore before day turns to night.

The shining sun, a breeze wrapped in cool air,
A joy to tend nature’s garden nearly washed away.
A Summer cyclone twisted― tossed plants everywhere,
Much sawing, clipping, digging to do― early May.

Meanwhile, in the darkness ev'ry street seemed bare,
Some cars are approaching, both noisy and fast.
Clouds are heavy, inky black, they hover mid-air,
The sun cannot shine after daytime has passed.

A vine with barbs, is fierce is free,
Rises from earth so dry so bare.
It seeks to climb the tallest tree,
Ev’ry root goes creeping with care.

Not keen on tipping while cruising the bay,
The kayak had to remain stable.
These outriggers truly, should save the day,
Easy to add on― like wrapping a parcel.

Picture

Not wanting to tip under sail or motor,
I felt outriggers would provide more support.
The kayak glides well― a moving floater,
Stable both starboard and port.

Emma’s a water Tschoodle, her spirit is free,
Outriggers steady two of us in tow.
Our kayak adventure, amazing to see,
Crossing currents where warm breezes blow.

With gadgets and gizmos, we glide with delight,
No capsizing, just smooth sailing bliss.
From starboard to port, it's steady all right,
One cluttered kayak you just couldn’t miss.
