I’ve been to cities that never close down,
From New York to Rio and old London Town.
But no matter how far or wide I roam,
I still call Australia home.

Picture

The birds are waiting for the Sun to appear,
Early surfers wait for waves left and right.
You listen for sounds, what else do you hear,
Burleigh Hill has a yawn at first light.

Picture

Some people sit, mesmerised by the moon,
With a golden glow it lights up the sky.
Heavenly sounds― curling waves break in tune,
In the West it unknowingly sneaks away.

Picture

Peter’s Seafoods between Versace and the trawlers.
Is one of my favoured spots on the Broadwater,
To wait in stillness when a loudspeaker announces,
“Will ticket number 31 come and collect your order?”

Picture

This sand pumping jetty stretches out from The Spit,
With a nice long beach where your dog can run free.
The beach fills with fisherpeople when the tide is right,
There are so many activities to do and to see.

Picture

Here is the oldest church in Brisbane,
Which I photographed several times.
Replica images were stitched together,
To show a busy street and fine lines.

Picture

There’s a hole in the sky, someone has unzipped it,
Makes you wonder who might be on the other side.
It is around 6 a.m. so it’s a sunrise shot,
Perhaps we will find out "who" at high tide..?

Picture

Not much pop saltbush is being trodden on,
You rarely see cars or any foot traffic.
Boarded up windows where the sun once shone,
Broken Hill, a photographer’s dream― photogenic.

Picture

Greenmount Hill lookout leads you to Rainbow Bay,
Or take the steep road down from Point Danger.
There are plenty of beaches, waves and frill-necks to see,
In Coolangatta it’s a sun and surf adventure.

Picture

At twilight an artist’s palette of colours appear,
I wonder why some clouds are different to look at?
Someone is looking pretty cranky up there,
Moods are changing, from this cloud to that.
