I know you’re trying to catch a fish out there,
The splash of raindrops might lessen your chance.
Feeling wet and cold makes it truly unfair,
When you’re soaked clean through to your pants.

The Gold Coast is growing day by day,
Higher balconies, better views― it’s incredible.
The sky is the limit and all the residents say,
Their rooftop garden grows the best organic vegetable.

It’s cold and dark in Winter when the Sun has almost set,
Norfolk Pine silhouettes stretch out across the sand.
“Such a great turnout,” squawks every Rainbow Lorrikeet,
Couples come observing, strolling barefoot― hand-in-hand.

Healthy morning stretches where Cape Byron meets the sea,
The lighthouse is perfect when the sunshine warms your face.
A path from Wategos Beach leads to a climbing track, carefree,
Surround yourself with warm salt air― a perfect meeting place.

Picture

Sunshine smiles let us enjoy the day― I’m ecstatic,
Thanks to time and space, our Sun pops up for a visit.
One happy lighthouse leans and dances the light fantastic,
Being sheer magic what each and every day brings with it.

Byron lighthouse was built in nineteen-o-one,
Popular for early morning visitors from wide and far.
Every passing shadow comes alive with a rising Sun,
The Sun offers comfort to wherever you are.

Burleigh Headland beams a full moon tonight,
Such a perfect place to share a patch on a rug to watch.
The sound of the waves, scented trees offer a hint,
Positive emotions, truly good vibes― a perfect match.

Picture

It’s quite a stretch from Burleigh to Surfers Paradise,
With a host of well travelled spots in between.
There are so many ways to spend time there, it’s nice,
For sparkling hollow waves or stars that make the scene.

Picture

The waves just keep rolling in from out back,
It’s like taking a vitamin pill for a fabulous feeling.
Surfing on a Sunday― really, any day of the week,
Remember, tonight you have to undercoat the ceiling.

Triton lost his Conch shell trumpet and can't send waves over,
These guys caught a wave and need some more to go.
Surfers out there waiting need some hollow super power,
So if you find Triton’s trumpet you’d better let him know.

Picture

The sun began to disappear, Emma and I stood watching,
Not much stirred before us― in the distance I hear Strauss.
Vivid colours pass us by, with each breath they are changing,
No creature is stirring― not a fish, nor bird nor mouse.
