The Isle of Capri seems the place to be,
Inclusive homes, restaurants, fine dining.
Presently the tide runs away to the sea,
Sleepy sunsets and amazing colours are changing.

Picture

The sun forms a fading velvet curve in the west,
On the far side of the Isle of Capri.
Colours are swirling while the sun gets undressed,
One more lap and she’ll rise again from the sea.

Here it comes, watch the moon drift between trees,
Amazing how it rotates in 13-hour stints.
It changes in size and tugs at the ocean, high tide,
Waxing and waning― other times amiss.

Picture

The Isle of Capri and Surfers Paradise join by a bridge,
A full moon beams over buildings and trees.
You might see a feint aura, it glows just a smidge,
Moving traffic brings a swift gentle breeze.

Emma and I searched for a full moon tonight,
We found it hiding way out to sea.
Tucked behind cloud it’s sphere hid from sight,
Easily spotted by moon spotters we.

Picture

There’s a fireworks celebration for Schoolies week,
A splash of colour on Surfers Paradise beach.
A spectacular show if it’s fireworks you seek,
While the full moon climbs out of reach.

Picture

From way down the road there’s a full moon in sight,
Unlike fireworks that burn far too soon.
The fairytale moon slowly floats away through the night,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

Picture

This morning has broken, the sky fills with cloud,
The rising sun is partly obscured at sea.
She scatters her rays over coastal land,
Cosy warmth for early risers― and me.

Picture

I looked for somewhere safe to take a dive,
With many unseen rock oysters there.
Suddenly, a tree’s reflection came alive,
It's message said I’m much safer out here.

Picture

A native She-oak flutters about in the breeze,
Looking out on the bank of the Nerang River.
Its leaves are fine, much like pine needles,
Though some say like a cassowary’s feather.
