Picture

Ever looked at an agave when you’re tired,
And wondered why it doesn’t look as it should.
It won’t help by squinting, or a quick glance upward,
This is embarrassing, please let’s move on if we could..?

Picture

Each frangipani is outstandingly beautiful,
With its elliptical dark leaves of green.
String together flowers, such beauty― ornamental,
It’s unique fragrance so sweet, fresh and clean.

Picture

Frangipanis alter in the heat of the night,
While you’re asleep some changes take place.
A gentle midsummer breeze, when the moon is right,
Each frangipani does an about face.

Picture

So many waterways make up the Gold Coast,
Filled with sea life and boats passing by.
One piece of magic to cherish the most,
All the health and happiness you can’t buy.

Picture

Summertime may bring about wild stormy nights,
Heavy cloud with lightning fills the air,
It doesn’t help much to hear weather reports,
Wind hail and trees down ev'rywhere.

Picture

Wire doors should be strong for protection,
To keep each and every nasty out.
Flies and mosquitoes, even masked men,
But those biting midges leave doubt.

Picture

Emblems are placed all over cars,
This car displays it way out front.
It’s good to see they’re designed with smiles,
On a downhill run they must feel chuffed.

Picture

Splashes of colour, befitting a gallery,
Complimentary patchwork scales on the walls.
It may mimic a water dragon lizzy,
Or chameleon once the rising sun falls.

Picture

Moving along we see something similar,
Here’s the top floor Balcony of the Gallery.
An observation deck for views by the river,
"Hark! The Garden of Eden becomes reality."

Picture

There are tinted windows to protect from sunshine,
Fully air-conditioned is the HOTA gallery.
Such natural shape, colour and design,
Daily, clouds float by aimlessly.

Picture

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair,
From the tower named the HOTA gallery.
I am needing to climb your golden stair,
I must plug in my phone to re-charge the battery.

Picture

Colours surround each building you see,
Vibrant design wraps over ev’ry corner.
Dimensional borders strike out simplicity,
I must climb up to Rapunzel and tell her.

Picture

This neighbouring building is just as flamboyant,
‘Til it meets a stairway intrusion.
Raindrop panels for a wet weather event,
An overflow to feed plants in the garden.

Picture

Tall trees in the garden can get in the way,
With lines heading off in every direction.
It’s a bit confusing to be led astray,
Whether climb, walk or ride is your intention.

Picture

Summer offers a healthy bunch of fruit,
A tall, strong looking coconut palm tree.
More than a dozen―  absolutely absolute,
I must climb up and wiggle some free.

Picture

Some like to sail the canal below it,
Cross over from above, that’s how it goes.
Such an experience, how the Green Bridge reaches out,
For adventurers with huge smiles― and it shows.
