Picture

At Broadwater Parklands where locals come along,
Always fun and good times at each event.
Word got around that they were hiding King Kong,
Dressed as a ringmaster with one heavy accent.

Picture

“Roll up-roll up an’ get the thrill of a lifetime,
“It’s scary, it’s fast and it’ll shake you.
“Over to your right, there’s a ramp you must climb,
“Tickets please― who’s next in the queue?”

Picture

Such refreshing music for the first day of Spring,
Monica hums as she strums her ukelele.
Sharing the love which music can bring,
Sweet music drifting over the valley.

Picture

Brisbane locals stood, some were seated,
The air force was conducting a flypast,
A medley of fireworks from the heavens exploded
Must have been twenty minutes before up rose the last.

Picture

It’s fireworks time on the river,
Twinkle twinkle little star how I wonder what?
Such a display― flitter, scatter, splatter,
How those shimmering lights twirl and dart.

Picture

The Story Bridge often changes in hue,
Depending on what fundraising cause arrives.
Tonight, the theme is pink― with fireworks too,
What every Riverfire festival brings.

Picture

Spraying, twirling, sparkling light,
Spreading out above the rooftops.
In the early hours this winter’s night,
Trails of smoke stay behind as it drops.

Picture

Whirling glowing bursts of light,
Tossed high up in the air.
A glow-glimmering burst is showing tonight,
A rain of golden light sprays everywhere.

Picture

Burleigh is popular even before the sun shows,
Best time of the day you might hear some say.
For those in the water they have many spectators,
That’s unless sun rays get in their way.

Picture

Flocks of birds and surfers go streaming past,
While the sun offers a warm golden glow.
Quickly though― golden sunbeams move fast,
To be high in the sky, before you know.

Picture

A street party for the weekend was planned,
Signs posted around mentioned Main Beach.
Fine food and music, morning to dark was provided,
A great time for locals and visitors― for all, for each.

Picture

A dozen or more stood on the sand,
Like chess pieces, all in combat.
Sun was hot, some cool wind fanned,
Such unease, they were constantly stared at.

Picture

One guy sat there waiting for the all-clear,
His mate stood there scanning out back.
He wanted huge glassy barrels to appear,
Perfect waves for he and his mate Jack.

Picture

Look what flew out from the cutlery drawer,
And ended up on the beach.
It’s made of knives, forks, spoons and more,
And I’ll bet it trumpets out a mean screech..!

Picture

We’re down at Snapper Rocks today,
Cool blue ocean with plenty of sunshine.
Lots of waves down Coolangatta way,
Sheer magic to make moments just fine.

Picture

Climbing the clifftop to Point Danger,
Norfolk pines nearly get in the way.
A spectacular view revealing all over,
Straddie to Cook Island and Byron Bay.

Picture

The sun is leaving the sky― we can rest,
The afternoon is easy at Rainbow Bay.
Time to go home once you’ve de-stressed,
With a gentle breeze leading the way.
