Picture

Wind on the beach can unwrap what you’re wearing,
Swirling sand almost clogs your nose and your ears.
Flying silica specks are like a slap from a thong,
Much less painful though― if the wind disappears.

Picture

Some say clouds take shape and have meaning,
Other times will vanish before they arrive
Squashing and twisting, their shape is ever changing,
Some are more dense, some are less dense― so alive..!

Picture

Rest on the sand, feel the morning breeze,
Here’s a spot where beach lovers go.
Breaking waves appear from deep distant seas,
Driven while the surface winds blow.

Picture

The sky seems to partly open up like an oyster,
The sun is returning, just like other days.
But it’s beams are veiled by a cloud of moisture,
A hazy sky merely spreads the sun’s rays.

Picture

Pandanus palms are at so many places,
And an added bonus at Burleigh Heads.
Such fine artwork covers the northern edges,
At early sun the morning light spreads.

Picture

It’s so perfect here watching the change of colours,
Every twelve hours the sun climbs the horizon.
A speckled orange glow rides over the waves,
Best moment you’ll ever set your eyes on.

Picture

Feel the rays warm you from horizons away.
Here comes the sun, such a sight to behold,
Gold is reflecting early at Burleigh today,
A perfect start to a new day I’m told.

Emma likes the beach and the Casuarina trees,
Attracted by dog lovers, she moves close for a pat.
She loves to attract humankind― so it seems,
So, over beside a bunch o’ daisies, Emma sat.

Picture

Emma also likes to feel the sand under her paws,
And she likes to sit and watch breaking waves.
There are so many places she likes― just because,
Truly, the beach has everything she most craves.

Picture

These rocks were tossed high from volcanic unrest,
There’s a whole bunch of ‘em around Greenmount Hill.
A great foreground/background, whatever looks best,
It’s been centuries and these rocks are here still.

Picture

There’s a haze of cloud floating aimlessly about,
Here at the Greenmount Beach area.
Surfers go further, the tide’s running out,
To meet the waves it’s almost a hike to Bavaria.

Picture

Here’s Emma again by the hillside on watch,
This trusty ol’ Pandanus offers shade over her.
So helpful, lifeguards may have found their match,
Emma’s a super hero, she’s one true life saver.

Picture

It seems to be a real beach day this month,
Pandanus’ and a wattles’ surround surfers at play.
Whatever beachgoers do, they’re all on the hunt,
From Greenmount to south of Rainbow Bay.

Picture

There are surfers riding waves at Rainbow Bay,
Partly obscured there are only two seen.
If only this greenery didn’t get in the way,
It grows like wildfire, this coastal Jack Bean.
