Early days in Sydney for Tilly Devine, Kate Leigh and the razor gang.

Corona Verse
What a year it's been this year,
It started off nice and easy.
T'was a lab in Wuhan, some say unclear,
From a test tube it fell like confetti.

What a year, is two thousand and twenty,
Covid-19 hitch-hiked 'round the world.
A cough or a sneeze― that's more than plenty,
Fine droplets are willy-nilly hurled.

When 2000 began people made fun of the Noughties,
Our global village has now come a gutser.
This Virus is snatching up people's lives,
Once their breath is too hard to muster.

Politicians always make vote-for-me choices,
About balancing the Aussie budget.
But maybe it's time to hear other voices,
Regarding lifestyles― which comes with regret.

Last Century leaders would discuss their indifferences,
As usual, Labor poo-poos the opposition.
And with that shows an emergence of attitudes,
An eye for an eye― so what is the attraction?

Covid-19 droplets are more harmful indoors
They will become inactive every now and then
With distancing and a mask it's as good as it gets
If you'd like to see the sunrise again.

When Kate visited my grandparents in 1925. My mother is wearing a bonnet sitting on my Nanna's knee. Mum's sister Emily is sitting on Kate's knee. Kate was always caring when it came to children, often giving gifts and coins from her purse.
